With over 43 years of wealth, finance and financial management experience, John provides our clients and families with guidance across all areas of wealth management, including financial planning, investments, portfolio construction and estate planning.

John has over 45 years of experience with Families and Clients, including NFL Players, Professional Golfers, College and NFL coaches, MLB Players, other Professional Athletes and Entertainers. He has also represented select NASCAR and IRL Drivers and owners.

John served as a Regional Director for the NFL Players Association. Subsequently, he became agent-of-record for Golden Bear International, Nicklaus Companies, where he founded Golden Bear Sports Management, a Professional Athlete Agency. While with Golden Bear, John also became agent of record for an MLB Player, catcher and now MLB Baseball Hall of Famer. John also became agent-of-record for an Olympic Gold Medal Figure Skating Champion, whom ABC Broadcasting called “America’s Sweetheart”.

John has recruited, signed and negotiated contracts for 55 NFL Players, 6 MLB Players I NBA Player and 15 PGA Tour Players. As an NFL Player Agent, he personally negotiated the two largest contracts ever for an NFL Offensive Center and an NFL Kicker.

John has been responsible for developing and managing high net worth clients and meeting their financial and wealth management needs, with several financial management/broker-dealer firms, including Ameriprise Financial Services and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Global Sports & Entertainment, before coming to Thurston Springer.
